Ex 19:10; 2 Chr 31:17f; Jos., Bell. 6, 425, Ant. 12, 145).ⓑ mid. purify oneself (Plut., Mor. 1105b; Josh 3:5; Hippol., Ref. 9, 21, 2) of the lustrations with the Nazirite oath (cp. Num 6:3) Ac 21:24, 26; 24:18 (cp. B-D-F §314).② to cause to be morally pure, purify, fig. ext. of 1: καρδίας Js 4:8; ψυχάς 1 Pt 1:22; ἑαυτόν 1J 3:3.
